Hi all,
As a matter of practice, we can look first for viable open source
solutions. Since we are not an infrastructure/ops heavy project, I'd like to avoid
hosting our own solution if we can get a reasonable service. But it should be one we can
choose to host ourselves, for any reason.
One that fits the description is Element ( https://element.io/ ), which is the Matrix
network service from the team behind Matrix.
What do you think about that solution? What other ideas do you have?
I suggest we talk about this for a week and see if there is a consensus by next Thursday

How does all this sound to you?
A big +1 from me for Element/Matrix. I've used this in other open/source groups
in the past and have been impressed with it. It also ticks several boxes for us:
chat across text, video, voice, etc.
